Chilton County Sheriff's Office Investigating Multiple Incidents Occurring During the Second Week of January 2026

Chilton County, AL - January 2026 - Investigators with the Chilton County Sheriff's Office are currently investigating multiple incidents that occurred at separate locations throughout Chilton County during the second week of January 2026. Arrests have been made in each case.

Unlawful Custody Interference - Maplesville

During the morning hours of January 6, 2026, a juvenile was taken from a location near the 11000 block of County Road 15 in Maplesville, Alabama, without the knowledge or permission of her parents. The juvenile was later recovered by law enforcement at a residence in Jasper, Alabama.

Myron Ramsey III, 18, of Jasper, Alabama, has been arrested and charged in connection with unlawful custody interference.

Shooting Incident - Clanton

During the morning hours of January 8, 2026, a shooting occurred at a residence located in the 3700 block of County Road 32 in Clanton, Alabama. During the incident, a residence and a vehicle were struck by gunfire. No injuries were reported.

Corey Bullock, 28, of Jasper, Alabama, has been arrested in connection with the shooting.

Vehicle Assault Incident - Clanton

Investigators are also investigating an assault involving a vehicle that occurred near the 1500 block of County Road 247 in Clanton, Alabama. The incident followed a traffic accident that occurred within the City of Clanton. An elderly female was intentionally struck by a vehicle and sustained serious injuries as a result of the assault. The victim was transported to the hospital and remains under intensive medical care.

Christopher Smith, 37, of Jemison, Alabama, has been arrested in connection with this incident.

Shooting Incident - Montevallo

On the evening of January 11, 2026, investigators responded to the 100 block of County Road 102 in Montevallo, Alabama, following a shooting that occurred on the roadway near that location. During the incident, one individual was struck in the head by gunfire and transported himself to the hospital for treatment. The individual was later released from the hospital.

Ja'brian Sullens, 24, of Montevallo, Alabama, has been arrested in connection with the shooting.

The Chilton County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate all incidents. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
