Chilton County Sheriff's Office Arrests Suspect for Attempted Murder

Clanton, AL - May 2, 2025 - The Chilton County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) has arrested Tony Curtis Mitchell Jr. in connection with an attempted murder that occurred on April 29, 2025, in rural Maplesville.

At approximately 2:00 p.m. on April 29, CCSO deputies, along with officers from the Maplesville Police Department, responded to a 911 call reporting a female in distress. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a female victim suffering from severe lacerations to both hands and possible internal injuries. The victim was immediately transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where she received emergency medical care.

Following an investigation, Mitchell was identified as the primary suspect. He was taken into custody during the early morning hours of April 30 and is currently being held at the Chilton County Jail with no bond. He has been charged with Attempted Murder, and additional charges may follow as the investigation continues.
