Chilton County Sheriff's Office Responds to Human Trafficking Case

On February 23, 2025, deputies from the Chilton County Sheriff's Office responded to a welfare check in unincorporated Jemison. Upon arrival, they made contact with a female subject who reported being forced into prostitution by her current boyfriend. This alarming case was immediately forwarded to the Chilton County Special Operations Unit for thorough investigation.
As a result of the initial findings, warrants were obtained for Juan Carlos Marciel-Dominguez on charges of human trafficking in the first degree. On February 26, members of our Special Operations Unit, alongside a Jemison Police Officer, attempted to apprehend Marciel-Dominguez. During this operation, he fled both in a vehicle and on foot but was ultimately taken into custody.
This investigation is ongoing. Sheriff John Shearon remains steadfast in his commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents and will continue to work diligently to combat human trafficking within our community.
