On January 29, 2025, at approximately 5:50 AM, the Chilton County 911 received a call from a male individual who appeared to be experiencing a mental health crisis. Deputies were immediately dispatched to the location. Upon their arrival, they found the male subject deceased on the roadway near the 225-mile marker on Highway 65.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the individual intentionally stepped into traffic and was struck by multiple vehicles. This incident is currently under active investigation, and we will provide further details as they become available.
