The Chilton County Sheriff's Office Christmas party was held on December 12, 2024. The event served as a platform to honor our outstanding officers and their contributions to our community.

Capt Brock  is proud to announce that Sgt. Derrick Bone was awarded Investigator of the Year. This prestigious recognition underscores Derrick's unwavering dedication, exceptional hard work, and remarkable contributions. His meticulous attention to detail and relentless pursuit of justice have set him apart as a leader in his field, resulting in successful investigations that enhance the safety and well-being of Chilton County residents.

Lieutenant Corry McCartney aptly noted, "Derrick's dedication and tireless work ethic are truly commendable." We are fortunate to have such a professional exemplifying our office's values.

Additionally, Deputy Luke Walker received the Deputy of the Year award this year. Capt. Frank Davis remarked on Luke's resilience following a close decision last year, emphasizing that his positive mindset and dedication led him to achieve his goals in 2024.

Warden Ann Davis expressed her pride in all correction officers, highlighting their critical role in public safety. As I reflect on what this award means to me, I am proud to be a correction officer. It is one of the hardest jobs today. I often say not many people can do the job we do. Every one of my officers deserves this award. This award shows that they are not forgotten, that we recognize their value and worth, and that it takes everyone together to get the job done. We can't do this job alone; it takes the whole team. At this time, I would like to honor Robert Blake with the Corrections Officer of the Year award.

We would also like to recognize Hunter Jones as Reserve Deputy of the Year. Hunter has volunteered countless hours with the Sheriff's Reserve and has now taken a job with the Sheriff's Office. He will be attending the academy in the next couple of months to advance his career in law enforcement.

The last award, but one of the most important, is Chaplain of the Year. This year, this honor goes to Andy Mims. Brother Andy has served with the Sheriff's Office for several years and is often seen riding with a deputy. The chaplains also serve the community; when a situation arises where one is needed, they step in and are tasked with delivering terrible news to family members after an accident.

"These awards are not just accolades but reminders of our collective commitment to excellence within our community," said Sheriff Shearon. "Let us continue supporting each other as we strive for success together." Sheriff Shearon concluded the event by thanking all the departments within the county for their combined efforts in protecting the community.
