In Response To The COVID-19 Pandemic and Pistol Permit Renewals:

 

 

 

The Chilton County Sheriff's Office will be sending out pistol permit reminders. Do not panic if your permit is expired or will expire soon.  It is ok to wait until the courthouse reopens to renew your permit, we are also extending a grace period during this health crisis. Anyone possessing a permit which expires between January 1, 2020 until April 30, 2020 should retain a copy of this letter that states they are hereby granted an extension. Should you have an encounter with law enforcement that requires showing your concealed carry permit, please show this letter, and your permit will be honored.  After April 30, 2020 you may contact the Chilton County Sheriff's Office for instructions on applying for or renewing your permit.  Any questions or concerns, you may have should be directed to the Sheriff's Office at 205-755-4698.  We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.  

 

We will accept your renewal through the mail if you wish to renew at this time.  We will only renew permits that are expiring or recently expired, if the permit has expired before January 1, 2020 you will have to wait until the courthouse reopens. 

If renewing please include

• Check or money order made payable to the Chilton County Sheriff's Office 

• Self-addressed stamped envelope

• 1 year   $25.25
• 2 years $45.25 
• 3 years $65.25
• 4 years $85.25
• 5 years $105.25
•  

Again, you may wait until the courthouse reopens to renew your permit. Thank you for your cooperation at this difficult time.
